Airport News 4-5 passengers burned on American Airlines flight to Dallas that filled with smoke, pilot says Saturday, August 22, 2026 8:10PM Watch Eyewitness News and ABC13 originals around the clock DALLAS, Texas (KTRK) -- At least four people sustained burn injuries during an American Airlines flight that filled up with smoke while it was landing in Dallas, the flight's pilot said.
American Airlines officials said the smoke came from a passenger's laptop on a flight from Atlanta to Dallas-Fort Worth.
The pilot requested medical crews on the ground after telling the control tower that four to five passengers were burned.
Airport officials said one person was treated for injuries at the scene and has since been released.
