According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter , the Eagles are signing Carter to a four-year, $152 million contract extension that is worth up to $160 million and includes $106 million guaranteed.
With the deal, Davis is now the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.
“Eagles are signing two-time Pro-Bowl selection Jalen Carter to a four-year, $152 million extension worth up to $160 million, including $106 million guaranteed that now makes him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history,” Schefter reported.

At $38 million annually and $106 million guaranteed, Carter clears Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, who previously held the records at $35.2 million and $100 million, respectively.
The “worth up to” part of Carter’s deal also exceeds the total value of Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones’, which comes in at $158.7 million.
Carter is the second defensive lineman the Eagles have inked to a huge deal this offseason.
Back in March, the Eagles also extended Jordan Davis with a three-year, $78 million deal that includes $65 million guaranteed.

That means the Eagles now have $171 million in guaranteed money committed to two interior defenders for the long haul.
A former first-round pick of the Eagles in 2023, Carter has developed into one of the better interior defensive linemen in that span.
After finishing as a runner-up for Defensive Rookie of the Year, Carter earned Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro nods in 2024.
He missed six games due to injury in 2025, but Carter still managed to earn Pro Bowl recognition during a season in which he produced three sacks and 41 pressures.
The Eagles know how important it is to dominate in the trenches after their 2024 Super Bowl run, so no surprise they’re investing a ton of money upfront.
