After a 2025 season in which he was part of a run to the Super Bowl, free agent Hunter Henry has decided to remain with the New England Patriots .
On Monday morning, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the standout tight end agreed to a new two-year deal to remain with the Patriots. Per Rapoport, that move could ensure that he finishes out his career with New England.
ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that Henry's new deal is for $16 million and worth up to $20 million, with $14.5 million guaranteed.
Last season, Henry played in all 17 games for the Patriots and had one of the best seasons of his 10-year career. He racked up a career-high 768 receiving yards along with seven touchdowns on 60 receptions.

Henry entered the NFL in 2016 as a second-round pick and played his first five seasons with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers before signing a deal to join the Patriots in 2021.
He remains with what should be a solid receiving corps for quarterback Drake Maye in the upcoming season after the team released veteran Stefon Diggs. New England traded several future draft picks to the Philadelphia Eagles for Pro Bowl receiver AJ Brown this offseason to improve their roster.
In addition, New England signed free agent tight end Julian Hill, who spent the first several seasons of his career with the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots selected tight end Eli Raridon in the NFL Draft's third round, adding more depth to the position.
New England remains among the top six teams in terms of odds to win it all this coming season, although they could face tougher competition from AFC opponents. According to ESPN , the Patriots will have the sixth-hardest schedule this coming season.
They'll open the preseason slate on Thursday when they host the Indianapolis Colts. New England starts their regular season on Thursday, Sept. 9, with a rematch against the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
