Training camp is underway for the Jets in 2026. As frequently happens in the early days of training camp, the team is dealing with some minor injuries.
Defensive end Joseph Ossai is starting camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

A stint on the PUP list may sound daunting, but it only means the player is not ready to take the field for the first practice. During training camp, a player can come off the list the day he is ready to start practicing. It can be the day after he is placed there.
A player can suffer the exact same injury on the first day of practice, miss the same amount of time, and not be placed on the PUP list.
Rookie cornerback D’Angelo Ponds isn’t going on an injury list, but he is dealing with a minor injury as well.
Ponds has a strained calf, Glenn said. Not overly concerned.

It’s not a big deal, but it would be nice to get Ponds back on the practice field sooner rather than later. Rookies can use the training camp reps to get up to speed. The Jets are also figuring out where Ponds best fits in their secondary.
The good news as noted is that veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick is coming off the list after a short stint.
