The Cincinnati Reds are in the Sonoran Desert on Friday night to take on Eduardo Rodriguez and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Rodriguez is a lefty, and the Reds simply have no way to prepare a roster for such events, so they’ve got no fewer than six guys in the starting lineup who probably shouldn’t be in an MLB lineup against anyone under any circumstances. Keep in mind that none of Spencer Steer, Rece Hinds, Noelvi Marte, or Christian Encarnacion-Strand are around to chip in for this development.
Nick Lodolo is on the bump for the good guys looking to build on his solid most recent outing even if there was an obvious glitch in the matrix between he and Terry Francona on whether or not he was supposed to be pulled at 75 pitches (or not).
It’s a late start, with 9:40 PM ET the set time for the game’s first pitch.
