Dodgers’ Kyle Tucker gets candid after getting booed by Cubs fans appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
The Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Monday. It was a big occasion for outfielder Kyle Tucker . This game represented his first contest back at Wrigley Field since leaving Chicago in MLB free agency. However, if he expected a warm welcome, he got something else entirely.
Tucker stepped to the plate for the first time in the first inning with Los Angeles leading 3-0. As he stepped to the plate, the Cubs fans in attendance rained down boos upon their former outfielder. The reaction even seemed to surprise the Dodgers’ broadcasters live in the moment.

After the game, Tucker was inevitably asked about this moment. Suffice it to say, there were some hurt feelings from the Dodgers outfielder. “I tried my hardest last year. I tried playing through a hand fracture and calf thing, just trying to get back to the playoffs for them and trying to do what I could to help out the team last year with them,” he said, via The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.
The veteran outfielder spent one season with the Cubs before signing with Los Angeles over the winter. He slashed .266/.377/.464 with 22 home runs and 73 RBI for Chicago in 2025. He helped the Cubbies make the postseason, though they ultimately fell short of the World Series.
It seems as if Wrigleyville is none too pleased with his decision to join Los Angeles. Perhaps this incident lights a fire under Tucker for the remainder of the season. The Dodgers and Cubs return to the field on Tuesday for the second game of this three-game set.
