Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Agree Loan Deal for Barcelona Star
Liverpool have been in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and there hadn’t been much movement on that front. Tottenham Hotspur’s Djed Spence was mentioned but not concretely, whilst Liverpool have monitored Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa.
With Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni still recovering from long-term injuries, a player capable of playing both centre-back and right-back was needed.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are about to get a huge deal over the line…
Liverpool Agree Araujo Deal
Speaking on X, Romano dropped a transfer bombshell. He claims Liverpool have agreed a loan deal for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
Romano said: “EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool agree loan deal to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, HERE WE GO!”
“Verbal agreement club to club with Barca now approved by director Deco.”
“New centre-back for #LFC with a surprise bomba.”
Journalist Alex Crook of talkSPORT has also spoke on the signing, saying: “#LFC has signed Ronald Araujo on a straight loan.”
Araujo becomes Liverpool’s second defensive signing of the summer, after the Reds wrapped up a deal for Jeremy Jacquet earlier this year.
Spanish winger Victor Munoz then arrived, and now Araujo. Liverpool aren’t planning to stop there either, with talks over moves for PSG duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye still taking place.
