Former LA Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald’s rumored return to the NFL for the 2026-27 season looks credible after his latest workout video.
Donald retired at the end of the 2023-24 season as a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl Champion. However, the 35-year-old is still in shape and has had return rumours all offseason.
The Rams’ summer acquisition of reigning DPOY Myles Garrett has further fuelled these rumours, and Donald’s current shape reinforces that he is still in the physical condition to be an NFL player.

Donald was seen at the Rams facility working alongside current Rams’ defensive tackles Braden Fiske and Desjuan Johnson.
Donald looks to be in phenomenal condition, keeping up with the active NFL DTs next to him with ease, if not still outshining them.
Donald also practiced with the Rams for 45 minutes on August 5 as he continues to weigh options for a return, with a decision expected in the next week before the start of the NFL preseason.

“And people are saying there might be a drop off in his performance,” said one fan .
“Well, now I have even higher hopes for this year. It’s gonna be a fun ride,” said an excited fan, expecting Donald’s return .
“He’s cooking with gas,” said another fan who was left impressed by Donald’s current skills.
“Definitely a drop off. Still would be an impactful player, but obviously not Hall of Fame-level prime,” said a more realistic fan .
He is in the shape to play, but does he have the willingness to play another full season in such a physically demanding position?
With Garrett likely leading the defensive line as their best defender, Donald would be an excellent option on the line with much-reduced responsibilities compared to his final season.
