SLAKE was a very good opener today. It’s just a simple variation of Wordle Bot’s favorite opener, SLATE, and today it made a huge difference with a very lucky “K” and an even luckier second guess. I just liked the sound of CLUNK and figured at the very least it would get me close. Instead, I got a hole in two! How’s them apples, Wordle Bot!?
I get 2 points for guessing in two and another for beating the Bot. The clunky ol’ Bot gets 0 points for guessing in four and -1 for losing to moi .
“Clunk” is onomatopoeic, formed to imitate the dull, heavy sound of objects striking together. It appeared in English in the 19th century, related to similar sound-words like clank and clink .
