West Brom boss James Morrison says signing a new right-back is a priority for the club this summer.
The Baggies are keen on signing French defender Nolan Galves of Ligue 2 side Rodez, but face competition from Southampton.
“Clearly we need a right-back,” Morrison said after West Brom’s pre-season win over Shrewsbury. “I’m not going to get drawn into talking about a player at a different club.
“Everybody in the club is working extremely hard to bring players in. We’re all on the same page. We know we need to bring players in and behind the scenes we’re getting that done.”
Reflecting on the victory, Morrison said: “I’m really happy with the performance,” said Morrison. “The opposition gave us a different game than I was expecting.
“We had to be professional, and I was really pleased with that. We went to the end of the game doing the right things.”
