See the full story · 1 sourcesKansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub spoke with reporters after practice on Saturday at Missouri Western State University. He applauded quarterback Patrick Mahomes' progress during training camp.
“It really is; it’s incredible what we’re seeing with (Patrick Mahomes) Pat. I keep watching every day." said Toub, "I’m on the outside watching offense and defense, and I keep watching for anything, any sign of him limping or anything like that, and I don’t see anything. He just keeps getting better and stronger. It’s exciting, you know it’s exciting to see where he’s at.”
Mahomes was cleared for full practice activities at the start of training camp and has continued to go through drills without any significant issues. The coaching staff is watching his progress but not rushing him or limiting his abilities on the practice field. Toub, weighing in on his improvements, speaks volumes, as he primarily focuses on developing the special teams unit.
There haven't been any decisions on whether Mahomes will play in the preseason, as the Chiefs are still targeting a Week 1 start against the Denver Broncos for Monday Night Football on September 14.
