“Finding a needle in a haystack" is one of those sayings you use without ever picturing the literal haystack. One intrepid game dev recently decided to do build an entire game bringing that metaphor to life. The developer, Nas Nakarus, kept the concept simple when debuting the game in a recent post on X : “I made a game where you literally have to find a needle in a haystack — the catch is there are 5,000,000 pieces of hay and only 1 needle.” The reception to his pitch has been wildly enthusiastic. Over a weekend, the post received over 23 million views, nearly 200,000 likes, tens of thousands of reposts — and a comment section filled with both enthusiasm and questions. A fairly big reaction for a game that has neither a real title nor a Steam page (Nakarus says that's coming next week ) nor a timeline nor much of anything, really…except for the promise of endless hours of sorting through slivers of hay.
