Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay certainly made it sound possible when he said the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is going through a "very strict, regimented process" to determine whether or not he wants to play for the Rams this season.
"For those of you guys that do know Aaron, he's very diligent," McVay said. "Anything that he does, he does all-in. And so he's going through a very strict, regimented process that was similar to what he did when he played."

McVay told reporters he reached out to Donald before the team made its blockbuster acquisition of Myles Garrett in a stunning trade with the Cleveland Browns to gauge the former star defensive lineman's interest in coming back.
Immediately following the trade, fan speculation regarding a potential comeback ran rampant. The Rams head coach made it clear he genuinely doesn't know if Donald will come back, but said the team will remain aware of how Donald is responding to the training he's putting himself through.
"We'll see how his body's responding to some of the training and the way that he puts himself through the paces to know what it looks and feels like to be ready to take on what the rigors of an NFL season entail," McVay said.
Donald retired following the 2023 season.
