Franco Mastantuono looks increasingly likely to spend the upcoming season away from Real Madrid, with both the club and the player agreeing that a loan is the best step for his development.
Los Blancos have no intention of selling the Argentine teenager and are instead seeking a straightforward loan deal with no purchase option, allowing him to gain regular first-team football before returning to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Initially, Mastantuono hoped to earn a place in Madrid’s plans, but the club’s summer recruitment, particularly their imminent arrival of Yan Diomande, significantly increased the competition for attacking positions.
Europe the Only Destination
Now, according to AS , one option that has already been ruled out is a return to River Plate.
The Argentine giants explored the possibility of bringing their former academy star back earlier in the summer and renewed their interest in recent weeks.

However, Real Madrid believe his development should continue in European football rather than returning to Argentina, despite the player hoping to return. As such, that door is now closed.
Meanwhile, several clubs across Europe have already expressed interest, leaving Real Madrid with plenty of options to consider.
Italy emerging as the leading option
As per the report, Serie A currently appears to be the most likely destination.
Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, previously considered Mastantuono as a target before moving in a different direction.
Fiorentina have also shown interest, while AS Roma could become an option if Matias Soule leaves the club. AC Milan have likewise been linked, particularly given the strong relationship between the two clubs.

Each proposal is being evaluated carefully, with Real Madrid placing greater importance on the player’s role within a project than on the name of the club itself.
Fulham interest cools
Fulham were among the first English clubs to enquire about Mastantuono’s availability.
However, the London side have since shifted their focus elsewhere, prioritising moves for other Real Madrid youngsters, including Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, whose transfer is believed to be much closer to completion.
Decision soon
Neither Mastantuono nor Real Madrid want the uncertainty to continue for much longer. With more than a dozen clubs interested, the expectation is that a final decision on his destination will be made before the end of the week.
Real Madrid hope that the loan move will accelerate his development before he returns to compete for a place at the Bernabeu next year.
