The Denver Broncos ' training camp is underway, and the anticipation is sky high. Their training camp started with veteran players reporting on July 28 and it runs through Aug. 19 at the team's training facility in Englewood, Colorado.
Following the team's heartbreaking loss in the AFC Championship game last season, expectations are high for the Broncos . They haven't made a ton of offseason changes and they've mainly kept the roster that helped them become a 14-3 team and snag the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
Now, one NFL analyst is making a bold claim about the Broncos and quarterback Bo Nix that makes sense. Head coach Sean Payton would likely also agree with this claim.
Denver Broncos are No. 2 in new power ranking
Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports has released his NFL power rankings as training camp gets underway for all of the teams. In it, he ranks every NFL team and places the Broncos at No. 2 on the tally.
The Broncos are only behind the Los Angeles Rams , so that's a great spot to be. They're the top-ranked AFC team.
What's even better than the No. 2 ranking is what he says about the Broncos.
"QB Bo Nix is supposed to be 'full go,' according to Sean Payton, when camp opens," he states. "If he had been full go for the AFC Championship Game last year, the Broncos would’ve made the Super Bowl."
So, Vacchiano truly believes that if Nix had been healthy enough to play in the AFC Championship, the Broncos would have gone to the championship. It's difficult to argue against that point, and it's a bold take that should get out there more.
