Jeadyn Lukus will get another opportunity to prove himself at the NFL level, this time with the Cleveland Browns .
Cleveland announced the addition of the former Clemson cornerback on Aug. 7, giving Lukus a quick landing spot after his brief stint with the Tennessee Titans came to an end. According to NFL reporter Arye Pulli, Lukus earned the deal following a “successful workout” with the Browns.
The move gives Cleveland a young defensive back who was once considered one of the top prospects in the country.
Lukus came to the Tigers as a five-star recruit in the 2022 class and the No. 1 prospect in South Carolina according to the 247Sports Composite. He made an impact during his freshman season, including an interception against North Carolina in Clemson ’s victory in the ACC Championship Game.
His path after that wasn’t always smooth.
Lukus eventually worked his way into a larger role in Clemson’s secondary and opened the 2024 season as a starter. He struggled to maintain that spot throughout the year, however, and injuries created another setback during his final season with the Tigers.
After seeing 721 defensive snaps over the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Lukus was limited to only 197 snaps in 2025. He missed a large portion of fall camp and started just once during his senior year.
Lukus still put together a productive Clemson career despite never fully developing into the consistent starter many expected when he arrived. Over four seasons, he appeared in 43 games and made 15 starts, recording 61 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups and two interceptions.

— Clemson Wire (@Clemson_Wire) August 9, 2026 His combination of size and athletic ability helped him receive an NFL opportunity even after going undrafted in April. Tennessee initially signed Lukus as an undrafted free agent before deciding to waive him on Aug. 1.
Less than a week later, his NFL journey has another destination. Lukus will wear No. 38 with the Browns after wearing No. 10 throughout his Clemson career.
