Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Ties for Longest Hot 100 Rule Among Non-Holiday Hits With 19th Week at No. 1

Ella Langley ’s “Choosin’ Texas” achieves a 19th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — tying for the longest run ever atop the chart among non-holiday songs. The smash first led in February and has already set multiple chart records .

Both “Choosin’ Texas” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” became country and pop crossover airplay hits, while Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, scored at pop and R&B/hip-hop radio, with all three songs also evolving into streaming and sales monsters.

The only song in their way historically, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has dominated the Hot 100 each holiday season since the 1994 carol was first No. 1 in 2019 (and could add to its total after it’s time once again).

Elsewhere, Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” takes over as the most-heard song on radio, while country holds the Hot 100’s top four spots, continuing the genre’s recent dominance.
