He may have been intentionally left out of Michael Jordan’s ‘The Last Dance,’ but LeBron James is finally getting the camera crew to tell his own story.
Hold onto your hats, because LeBron James just broke the basketball internet again. Leaving L.A. behind, the King has officially taken his talents to Philadelphia, signing A two-year deal with the 76ers to launch one last, desperate title run alongside Joel Embiid.
But swapping jerseys at 41 isn’t even the whole circus. Behind the scenes, a full camera crew will be trailing his every single move for an epic, career-capping documentary series.

LeBron James didn’t actually feature in ‘The Last Dance’ and here’s why
LeBron James was omitted from ‘The Last Dance’ as a deliberate creative choice by director Jason Hehir.
Hehir explained that he wanted to keep the documentary strictly focused on the 1990s Chicago Bulls dynasty and avoided including James to prevent the series from devolving into an on-camera GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate.
“ Once you open that door, then you have to have that discussion, and I was never interested in having that discussion .
*“If people… are at a bar having this discussion about the GOAT, if they want to cite things that they saw in ‘The Last Dance,’ great. But I never wanted [to bring LeBron in]… because what are you going to ask LeBron? And you know what he’s going to say. He’s going to say, ‘I admired the guy, I wore 23 because of him, I grew up watching him.’ We’ll show a picture of him wearing Jordans. There’s gonna be no surprises there.”*
Since James never played against Michael Jordan and had no direct connection to the 1990s Bulls teams, interviewing him would not have offered any value, as his admiration for Jordan as a childhood idol was already well known.
By contrast, players like Kobe Bryant were featured because they actively competed against Jordan during that specific 1990s era.
