Caitlin Clark developed an immediate connection with Jonquel Jones during the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, and the Indiana Fever guard would welcome another opportunity to team up with the New York Liberty star.
Caitlin Clark spent WNBA All-Star Weekend competing alongside some of the league’s biggest names, but one teammate made an especially strong impression on the Indiana Fever star. When Clark was asked which player from Team Spoon she would most like to play with again, she selected New York Liberty center Jonquel Jones.
Her decision was not based solely on what Jones accomplished during Team Spoon’s 129-122 victory over Team Coop. Clark also praised the veteran center for the person she is away from the court.
“JJ’s incredible, and she’s just a good soul,” Clark said. “She’s a good person. She’s very down to earth. She’s funny, she’s kind. So I’d probably pick her.”
Jones gave Clark plenty of reasons to appreciate her as a basketball player, too.

Jones came off the bench and nearly recorded a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Her dominant performance earned her WNBA All-Star MVP honors. Clark added 17 points, five assists, four rebounds and one steal for Team Spoon. The Fever guard made five 3-pointers, including three consecutive shots from well beyond the arc during an electric first-quarter stretch.

Before the game, Jones joked with Clark about wanting a pair of her unreleased Nike Caitlin 1 signature shoes. Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams and Seattle Storm guard Natisha Hiedeman, collectively known as the StudBudz, were among the players who received Clark’s size-nine samples.
Jones apparently wanted in on the exclusive group. After Team Spoon’s victory, Jones was photographed with her arm around Clark as the two All-Stars celebrated the win. Their interactions showed how quickly they became comfortable with each other despite normally competing on opposing teams.

Could Clark and Jones ever become WNBA teammates?
Clark’s answer will naturally leave fans wondering whether she and Jones could eventually join forces beyond the All-Star Game. There is no indication that such a move is imminent, and both players remain central figures for their respective teams. Clark is attempting to lead Indiana back to the playoffs, while Jones remains one of the WNBA’s most accomplished and versatile frontcourt players.
Still, it is easy to understand why Clark enjoyed playing alongside her. Jones can score inside, stretch the floor, control the glass and create for teammates. Pairing those skills with Clark’s shooting range and play playmaking would give opposing defenses an enormous challenge.
For now, their partnership may be limited to the All-Star stage. Clark made it clear, however, that she would happily play with Jones again if another opportunity presented itself. Jones earned MVP honors with her performance. Her personality apparently won over Clark just as quickly.
