It appears the Catalans have taken a firm stand on the player’s future. They want the forward to stay at the club and play a key role for them next season.
It must be remembered that Barcelona parted ways with Robert Lewandowski at the end of last season, leaving them devoid of a natural striker other than Ferran.
With Julian Alvarez deal still far off, the Spaniard is the only real number nine they have at their disposal, heading into the new season.
As a result, the club are keen on extending Ferran’s contract and keep him as a part of Hansi Flick’s setup.

Ferran’s future, though, is not something Barcelona can control as the club are not in a position to see him run down his contract and leave for free next summer.
Therefore, the onus is on Ferran himself to decide his future. Reports suggest he is closer to staying at the club , but the opportunity at PSG is certainly intriguing.
The striker has a strong relationship with Luis Enrique, having worked together in the Spanish national team.
Keeping that in mind, the Catalans must really put forward a strong argument if they are to convince the player to remain at the club. Not to mention, the team must also offer a lucrative renewal terms, knowing PSG can always offer a higher salary.
