The Detroit Tigers are one of the more talked-about teams at the 2026 MLB trade deadline, and it's all thanks to the potential for a Tarik Skubal trade.
Skubal is a hot topic around Major League Baseball, but he's not the only key player that the Tigers could wind up trading away this summer at the deadline. Three other notable players could be on the move this season alongside Skubal.
Jim Bowden of The Athletic revealed the trade values for these three trade candidates, noting how much the Tigers could get for Casey Mize, Gleyber Torres, and Kenley Jansen.
Tigers get trade values on Mize, Jansen, Torres ahead of deadline
"I think that the tigers could fetch a top 100 prospect straight up for Mize," Bowden writes. "As for Torres and Jansen, it would be more like a return of mid-level prospects in the 15-30 range of a team's farm system."
While the focus is on Skubal, and rightfully so, there are a few other players who could be legitimate top trade targets this summer on the Tigers roster.
Mize, another high-quality starting pitcher rental, could potentially fetch a top 100 prospect in baseball, according to Bowden. That would make a deal very intriguing for Detroit if they are also planning to trade Skubal.
Torres, the team's former All-Star second baseman who signed a $22.025 million qualifying offer last offseason, would be an expensive contract to add to a team's books, lowering the return the Tigers could get.

Jansen is older, likely nearing the end of his career, and like Torres and Mize, he is also a free agent after the 2026 season.
He probably won't fetch much in a trade, but the Tigers could get a relatively decent prospect for him this summer, considering he's a rental reliever.
While the cost for all of these players isn't fully known, as the Tigers might have a higher asking price or there might be much greater interest in a player than expected, these evaluations from Bowden paint a picture for Detroit.
But, if they do reshuffle the roster, the Tigers could bring back a huge prospect haul to build for the 2027 season and beyond, with some valuable prospects if they sell Mize, Jansen, and Torres on top of dealing Skubal.
