Two courtside fans were escorted from their seats during the Indiana Fever-Las Vegas Aces game on Thursday night after an incident involving Aces star Jackie Young escalated.
The fans were “chirping” at the visiting team at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the third quarter of the game on Thursday, Aug. 6, according to Young.
“He was just chirping all game,” Young, 28, told reporters after the game. “I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far.”
After the four-time All-Star motioned to referees about the fans, the game was stopped for several minutes with 4:38 left in the quarter.

“Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses,” the Fever said in a statement. “Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct. The fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed.”
Young did not go into detail about what was said but was pleased with the outcome.
“They did the right thing,” she said. “Obviously, we don’t want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we’re human too. So let’s just show up to games, have fun and not take it too far.”
The three-time WNBA champ — who was named to the 12-woman roster of the 2026 FIBA World Cup earlier in the day — was also happy about the end of the game, after teammate Chelsea Gray hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give the Aces an 86-84 overtime win.
For Indiana, the incident comes after weeks of off-the-court distraction, following Fever star Sophie Cunningham’s comments regarding trans athletes .
Cunningham, 29, drew both ire and support for her opinion on the matter in which she said in an ESPN interview that she wants “to protect young girls in a locker room … who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.”
