Neil MacRae said his side are building a style of cricket which is "exciting for spectators" [BBC]
Jersey Cricket's head coach Neil MacRae has set his sights on the "ambitious" goal of reaching the 2027 Cricket World Cup.
The islanders are fresh off the back of drawing a two-match, 50-over series against Scotland A in Glasgow, which MacRae described as "exceptional" and "really competitive".
Jersey lost the first contest by a single run on Tuesday with Scotland posting 301, and beat the hosts by 25 runs in the second warm-up match ahead of the ICC Men's ODI Cricket World Cup Play-off Qualifier in December.
Speaking on the chances of qualifying, MacRae told BBC Radio Jersey: "We're definitely ambitious, and it's what we've been working on all summer.
"We're building a style of cricket we think is really attacking and should be exciting for spectators to watch.
"More importantly it will really put pressure on opposition sides, so that is what we will continue to develop."

Jersey lost the first of the two matches by one run after Scotland A posted 301, despite Zak Tribe hitting 99 and Jonty Jenner scoring 94 not out.
On Wednesday Tribe made 85, with William Perchard and Charlie Brennan both passing the half-century mark
"That was an exceptionally exciting first match," MacRae said. "Zak Tribe batted beautifully on both days and looked in red hot form, and Jonty Jenner was really exciting too.
"The batting does look like it's starting to fire and we're building momentum."
The head coach added their focus would look no further than 5 September, when Jersey take on Guernsey in a 50-over match at Grainville.
After that they will compete in the ICC Challenge League in October, before thoughts turn to the ODI World Cup Play-off Qualifier in December.
