What the Knicks must do to win Shaquille O’Neal over
Shaquille O’Neal was asked to clarify his comments on the New York Knicks’ 2026 championship run .
The former Los Angeles Laker insisted he never said the Knicks were “lucky,” but that they needed some “luck” along the way.
“I hate people like you that don’t listen,” O’Neal responded. “I said luck was involved. What if Anunoby doesn’t get the tip?
“What if Fox held the ball back? That’s luck. What if Jaylen Brown and [Jayson] Tatum play the postseason? Everybody needs luck to win the championship.
“I started off by saying two of my championships were lucky, for all you sensitive Knicks fans. Knicks fans, if you want to impress me, run it back. Run it back!”
The Knicks have lost role players Mitchell Robinson, Jeremy Sochan and Ariel Hukporti this summer.
However, they still have the second-best odds to win the Eastern Conference behind the Philadelphia 76ers.
Knicks fans should be excited about potentially winning a second consecutive title after ending their 53-year drought.
