With an avalanche of shows barreling towards us, the options can feel endless. Luckily, that means there's something for everyone. Love fantasy and sci-fi? Then keep your eyes peeled for the return of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power , the premiere of Blade Runner 2099 , and the arrival of a new Avatar series, titled Avatar: Seven Havens . Hoping for some scares this spooky season? Get ready for Mike Flanagan's Carrie series, as well as Friday the 13th prequel Crystal Lake .
On the drama side of things, look out for Netflix's East of Eden , starring Florence Pugh, as well as HBO's legal drama War . Comedy-wise, new favorites like The Paper and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins are back, while Bad Sisters ' Sharon Horgan debuts her new series Youth .

Chad Powers, Season 2
Celebrate the start of the college football season with the return of Glen Powell's sports comedy, Chad Powers .
By the end of Season 1, much-loathed college football player Russ Holliday (Powell) managed to return to his quarterback glory days. Not as himself, but as his bumbling alter ego, Chad Powers. Now, though, his secret is getting dangerously close to slipping out, and he and confidant Danny (Frankie A. Rodriguez) are going to have to rope a very reluctant Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) into their scheme if they want any shot at preventing a massive scandal. If you love football, you'll have a blast with the on-the-field shenanigans, and if you don't, there's still so much to love with Russ' theater kid-level dedication to the role of Chad.

Season 1 got off to a great start, introducing a strong ensemble in the form of the Toledo Truth Teller 's newsroom. Among them are editor-in-chief Ned (Domhnall Gleeson) and reporter Mare (Chelsea Frei), whose "will they, won't they" dynamic has moved definitively into the will they column after a passionate kiss in the Season 1 finale. Also in the fray are wild card managing editor Esmeralda (Sabrina Impacciatore) and the one returning Office character, Oscar (Oscar Nuñez). Whatever stories they hunt next, expect The Paper 's return to be laugh-out-loud funny and relevant to today's media landscape.

Apple TV has built an impressive repertoire of thrillers, from Slow Horses to Hijack . This September, it adds a new entry to that list with the Australian series Last Call . The show follows police dispatcher Ian Ridley (Patrick Brammall), who receives a call from a teenager he believes to be his long-missing daughter, Maggie. The call sends him into action, and he'll do whatever it takes to get Maggie back. Based on the trailer, it's going to be one intense ride.

Crew Girl
Row, row, row your boat over to Netflix to check out Crew Girl , the streamer's latest YA romance.
Crew Girl introduces talented rower Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau). After a family scandal blows up her life, it's off to a new school for a new beginning. But the prestigious Easton Prep doesn't have a women's rowing team for her to join. Instead, she'll become the coxswain for the men's team, calling the shots from the front of the boat. As she takes on this new challenge, she'll become embroiled in — what else? — a love triangle involving two team members. Promising sporty, soapy romance, Crew Girl seems like the perfect next watch for anyone who devoured Off Campus in one sitting.

Dimension 20: Toylight
Dropout's Dimension 20 returns this fall, with its Intrepid Heroes back for a new adventure that's sure to knock the stuffing out of fans. This actual play series translates the game mechanics of Dungeons and Dragons into a variety of imaginative worlds, which has made Dimension 20 a wildly popular anthology series, delving into fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and more.

For Toylight , Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan leads his players into a tough terrain that only looks like child's play. When a little girl is dying of consumption, darkness threatens to snuff out the Toylight that is her imagination. Coming to her defense against vicious dust bunnies are a band of toys made up of a hobby horse, a kewpie doll, a tin soldier, a porcelain doll, a one-eyed lion plushie, and a stuffed rabbit. While this is a comedy show, the trailer has us thinking the collision of a childlike setup could be studded with gutting drama. Are we talking Crown of Candy level tragedy?
