A person was critically injured in a shooting Saturday evening in West Town, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call of a person shot along the 1500 block of West Augusta Boulevard at 8:33 p.m., according to police.
The victim, described as a male whose age was not disclosed, was reportedly outside when a dark-colored SUV drove by, and an unknown person opened fire, police said.
The victim suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and was treated at the scene by Chicago Fire Department personnel.
He was later taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
No further details were available, including the victim’s age, according to police.
Area 4 detectives are investigating the shooting, police said.
