Derry Girls’ Creator Lisa McGee Sets Mockumentary ‘Jig’ at Netflix
Logo text Derry Girls and How to Get to Heaven From Belfast creator Lisa McGee is heading back to Netflix for her next series.
The streamer has greenlit Jig , a mockumentary comedy set in the "high-stakes world of competitive Irish dancing." The six-episode show is set to begin filming next year in Northern Ireland.
Jig is one of a number of announcements Netflix made at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday, including a Top Boy prequel series, Jonny Boy , starring Barry Keoghan; drama The Unheard , starring Kate Winslet and Maxine Peake; and a series based on some of Roald Dahl's short stories .
