What happened
As good as the Bears were at two-minute drills toward the end of games, they struggled at the end of the first half. So coach Ben Johnson was curious what they’d do in the final drill Friday, when they practiced end-of-half offense.
In 1:22, quarterback Caleb Williams marched the Bears 61 yards, capping the drive with a 14-yard touchdown to tight end Colston Loveland with 15 seconds to play. It was an impressive bounce-back for Loveland, who dropped a touchdown earlier, and Williams, who'd been picked by Jaylon Johnson.
Best thing I saw at #Bears practice today was Colston Loveland’s TD catch in the two-minute drill. No photos for reporters so .. pic.twitter.com/dsweAuJZC9

The Bears practiced in front of fans for the first time. A former player watched, too — three-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Kyle Long, a new CBS pregame show co-host, sat in on Johnson’s press conference and signed autographs for fans during practice.

Position Battle Watch
Kiran Amegadjie played first-team left tackle for the first time in camp, with Braxton Jones and Jedrick Wills splitting time with the second team. The Bears rotated left tackles in camp last year, too. Jones is still considered the favorite.
Injury report
Running back Kyle Monangai missed his second-straight practice. Everyone else who practiced Thursday participated Friday.
What’s next
The Bears practice at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
