Several thousand fans welcomed the goalkeeper with live music and fireworks at the Monumental Stadium in Santiago, according to a live broadcast of the ceremony.
"I always wanted to play for a big club, and when the offer from Colo Colo came, I had no doubts," Vozinha said after the Latin pop music had faded.
Vozinha, 40, was named in FIFA's team of the tournament at the World Cup and last played for Portuguese second-division side GD Chaves.
He has signed with the current Chilean league leaders until the end of the season in December, with an option for a further year.
According to local media reports, Vozinha will earn the equivalent of around €44,500 ($51,400) per month, a fraction of the salaries paid to many other World Cup players.
The Chilean football association made an exception to allow Vozinha, whose full name is Josimar José Évora Dias, to wear his famous nickname on his shirt.
The highlight of the presentation came when his goalkeeper shirt was delivered into the stadium by a parachutist.
Wearing the new jersey, Vozinha completed a lap of honour to loud cheers from the crowd.
At the World Cup, he frustrated eventual champions Spain as Cape Verde held them to a goalless draw in their opening group game, launching his rise to social media fame.
He had fewer than 50,000 Instagram followers before the tournament. He now has 29.5 million.
