Last season, UF won the SEC regular season title for the first time since 2014. Florida finished the season 27-8 overall and 16-2 in the SEC, but was bounced early in the second round of the NCAA tournament against Iowa.
Florida retained the majority of its team, including its core big men of Thomas Haugh , Rueben Chinyelu and Alex Condon. Haugh was named an All-American, while Chinyelu earned both National and SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Condon also picked up all-conference recognition for a third straight year. As a result, Florida could be ranked the No. 1 team in the country in the preseason poll come late October.
Florida's season begins where last season ended as the Gators open against Miami in Tampa at Benchmark International Arena on Nov. 2. Other notable non-conference games include Florida State (Nov. 10), Duke (Dec. 1) and the Players Era tournament matchups.
It has also been reported that Florida will face Georgia Tech in Orlando on Dec. 12, but that game, as well as another on Dec. 18, has yet to be announced.
The Gators open SEC action on the road against Texas (Jan. 2), with whom they have a home-and-away series this season, and will conclude the regular season by hosting Kentucky (March 6).
