The future Hall of Famer joins Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe to form a supremely talented group as they head into the upcoming season.
James joining the Sixers makes the East that much tougher. When one looks at the totality of the Eastern Conference, there are a number of tough teams. The New York Knicks are the defending champs, the Detroit Pistons just won 60 games, the Miami Heat have Giannis Antetokounmpo teaming up with Bam Adebayo, the Indiana Pacers have Tyrese Haliburton returning from injury, and there are a number of other teams in the conference that will be tough and be in the playoff mix.
Orlando Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr. gave his thoughts on James joining the Sixers as he told Yahoo! Sports :
"S***, they're trying to go get a championship," Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. told Yahoo Sports. "I respect it."
"It's gonna be good, man," Carter said. "It's usually been the West being the best, but I feel like the East has kind of reshaped itself. It's going to be an exciting NBA run for sure."
The Sixers will certainly be one of those teams at the top of the Eastern Conference as they look to make a push for their first championship since 1983. The mere presence of James will give Philadelphia a big boost.
