Las Vegas Raiders have suffered a major injury scare after running back Ashton Jeanty was helped off the field following an apparent injury to his right leg.
The incident occurred during the Raiders’ practice on Sunday, 23 August, ahead of their final preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Jeanty was working as a pass-catcher during the team period when he dove for a catch and landed awkwardly. Trainers immediately helped him off the field after he was unable to put pressure on his right leg.
The incident prompted a strong reaction from Jeanty’s teammates, with several Raiders players taking a knee and praying for their teammate.
However, the team has yet to issue an official statement on Jeanty’s condition.

Ashton Jeanty’s injury scare leaves Raiders sweating
ESPN’s Ryan McFadden reported the incident on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“#Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty left practice early after suffering an apparent knee injury.
During the team period, he was diving for a catch and landed awkwardly. He was helped off the field by trainers and couldn’t put any pressure on his right leg.
Entire team took a knee and said a prayer.”
Following Jeanty’s departure, rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. took the first-team repetitions for the rest of the practice.
Jeanty was selected by the Raiders in the 2025 NFL Draft and made 17 appearances during his rookie season.
He rushed for 975 yards and five touchdowns on 266 carries, while also recording 55 receptions for 346 yards and five touchdowns.
The Raiders are yet to confirm the severity of Jeanty’s injury or whether he will miss any time.
With the regular season approaching, fans will now be hoping for a positive update on the running back’s condition.
