Following the Indiana Fever’s 98-87 win over the Dallas Wings, head coach Stephanie White shared how her team tried to stop Paige Bueckers.
The Fever picked up a massive 98-87 win over Dallas, but it was far from a smooth ride. Paige Bueckers gave Stephanie White’s defense proper headaches all night, torching them for 29 points and making Indiana look completely uncomfortable in coverage.
Regardless, the win over Dallas pushes Indiana to 22-12 on the season, keeping them firmly in 4th place overall in the WNBA standings and 2nd in the Eastern Conference. So, with just 10 games remaining in the regular season, the Fever are well-positioned for a high playoff seed.
Stephanie White claims the Fever made Paige Bueckers ‘uncomfortable’
After the Fever’s win over the Wings, Stephanie White came out and detailed exactly how the Indiana Fever dealt with Paige Bueckers and her scoring threat.
She said: “I thought Kelsey was doing a really good job on Paige, just making her uncomfortable. I mean, look, Paige is a hell of a player, so she still gets 29, but I thought in the fourth quarter in particular, Kelsey did a really good job of making it difficult.”
