David joined Juventus on a free transfer last summer after five productive years in Ligue 1 with Lille, but failed to convince in Serie A in a disappointing season on a personal and collective level, which resulted in a fifth-place finish and no Champions League football for 2026-27.

Juventus have already brought in a new centre-forward this summer in Randal Kolo Muani, considered a direct replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, but the Bianconeri are also hoping to replace David before the end of the window as well.
According to the latest reports from Fabrizio Romano , Atletico Madrid have recently submitted an official offer to sign David on loan with an option to buy and that the Canada international is ‘open’ to joining Diego Simeone’s side.
It is a bit of a paradox for Juventus, though, as Romano reports that Juventus need a replacement lined up before sanctioning David’s departure, whilst other reports in Italy claim that Juve need to sell David before bringing in any new additions in attack.

For now, discussions between Juventus and Atletico Madrid are expected to continue, and meanwhile, reports elsewhere claim that Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee is Juve’s top target in attack in the final days of the window.
