The threat from an extremist group known to law enforcement was called in around 5:49 a.m., according to city spokesperson Lisa Derderian, but additional details were not available.
Emergency traffic was diverted from the hospital while authorities worked to clear the building.
Around 9 a.m., the Pasadena Police Department said the hospital was cleared and secured.
