According to NorthJersey.com's Art Stapleton , former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Evan Neal has been released by the New York Giants.
Neal, who re-signed with New York during the offseason as a free agent, was among the numerous former Alabama players impacted by Sunday's roster cuts across the NFL.
Selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Neal previously spent the entirety of his professional career up in the Giants organization. Since entering the league, Neal has appeared in 29 games dating back to the 2022 season, 27 of which he has started.
Last season, Neal did not appear in a game for the Giants, entering free agency at season's end.
Neal spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa from 2019-21, each of which he started at three different positions in left guard, right tackle, and left tackle. The former first-round pick received multiple honors during his Alabama career, most notably All-America in 2021.
