TMZ has obtained and released body cam footage just days after the incident in this home state, showing what transpired as Romo was pulled over while traveling southbound on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee.
The video provides a detailed look at the interaction between Romo and law enforcement during the traffic stop that ultimately led to his detainment and subsequent arrest.
According to reports, Romo was pulled over after deputies observed what was described as unsafe behavior, including an improper pass during heavy traffic. The footage shows the CBS broadcaster calmly speaking with the officer, explaining that he was coming from a golf tournament.

— TMZ (@TMZ) July 29, 2026 Romo explains that he is from Dallas and was heading to his grandparent's house from the golf course. After handing over his driver license, the female officer asks how many drinks he had to which Romo responds by saying "Zero."
The deputy then asks Romo to step out of the vehicle so that she could conduct a field sobriety test — something Romo was hesitant to do at first and asks if he could "call his lawyer." The request was denied and after being patted down for any weapons, Romo was handcuffed and put in the back of the patrol car.
The altercation happened on the side of the freeway and the officer's appear to take Romo to a parking garage so that the sobriety test could be conducted free of any obstructions. When the test had concluded, the officers ask if he would be willing to submit to a PBT (Preliminary Breath Test).

The charge, a first-offense OWI in Wisconsin, is typically treated as a civil violation rather than a criminal offense , often resulting in a fine if proven. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 21 — a day after the second Sunday of the NFL regular season.
