Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Phillies agreed to trade for San Francisco Giants All-Star second baseman Luis Arraez, a league source told UPI on Monday.
The Phillies are to to send right-handed pitchers Ramon Marquez and Marty Gair to the Giants in exchange for Arraez and right-handed pitcher Caleb Kilian.
Sources told MLB.com , The Athletic and ESPN that the Phillies also agreed to acquire left-handed pitcher Brooks Raley from the New York Mets in a separate transaction. The Phillies will send outfielder John Spikerman and right-handed pitcher Luke Gabrysh to the Mets in that swap.
Arraez, who led the American League with a .324 batting average, would inject production into a Phillies lineup that has the fourth-worst batting average in the National League.
Arraez, who won batting titles in 2022 and 2023, owns a career .318 mark, the best among active players. He hit four home runs, seven triples and 23 doubles, with 43 RBIs, through 105 appearances this season. The 29-year-old infielder is to hit free agency this off-season.

The Phillies (59-53) sit in second place in the National League East, eight games behind the division-leading Atlanta Braves (67-45).
Kilian went 3-6 with a 4.26 ERA over 45 appearances this season. The 29-year-old relief pitcher is 3-10 ,with a 6.15 mark over 53 career appearances.

Marquez, 20, was 9-4 with a 3.00 ERA over 26 minor league appearances over the last two years. He was the Phillies' No. 4 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline .
Gair, 23, was 3-3 with a 4.43 ERA over the first 54 minor league appearances of his career.

Raley, 38, was 5-5 with a 1.96 ERA over 45 appearances this season for the Mets. He went 14-16 with a 3.60 ERA through the first 302 appearances of his career. Raley is to hit free agency this off-season.
Spikerman, the Phillies' No. 27 prospect, hit .232 with three home runs, five triples and 15 doubles, with 55 stolen bases, over the first 111 minor league appearances of his career. The 23-year-old outfielder was a third-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.

Gabrysh, 23, was 10-12 with a 4.17 ERA over the first 39 minor league appearances of his career.
The Phillies will host the Washington Nationals (55-58) at 6:40 p.m. EDT Monday in Philadelphia.
