AL West rivals open a key series Friday as the Astros host the Rangers in Houston.
Texas sits atop the division entering the weekend but Houston is one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Astros have won eight of their last nine games to get back to .500 for the first time since April 7 and suddenly find themselves firmly in the AL postseason race.
Better yet for the home team, Hunter Brown is coming off his best start since returning from more than two months on the injured list with a shoulder issue. The right-hander allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings against the White Sox last weekend, striking out seven without walking a batter.
Texas will give the ball to the veteran Nathan Eovaldi, who also picked up a win his last time out with seven strong innings against the Mariners in which he struck out eight.
Who will open the weekend series with a win? Here's everything you need to know to watch.
