After seeing his teammates erupt into a brawl on day one of the Cincinnati Bengals’ training camp, Joe Burrow had his say.
The scuffle between the offensive and defensive unit came about after Ja’Marr Chase talked trash to the defensive unit.
As the leader of the team, one might imagine Burrow was frustrated and upset seeing his teammates get into a fight on the first day of training camp. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Speaking to reporters after the first day of Cincinnati Bengals training camp, QB Joe Burrow was asked what he made of the fight between Ja’Marr Chase and DJ Tanner.
He praised both players for being the ‘best in the league,’ and added that he is okay with their intensity and quarrelling if it helps them improve ahead of the new season.
“Number one sure had one (an edge) today. Number zero did too. Those two are the best in the league, and they’re going at it every day.
“Whatever those guys need to get excited and to get better, go ahead and do it… To some extent (it’s good). When it starts to interrupt practice, not too much.
“But if you can punch somebody in the face in about 15-20 seconds and get back lined up, that’s probably ideal.”

While Burrow didn’t exactly condone the physicality between both stars, the quarterback handled the situation to the best possible extent.
As the quarterback and leader of the franchise, Burrow held both players accountable, praised their intensity, warned how things can get negative, but admitted that he just wants to see the team improve.
The Bengals have struggled to make a big impact in the playoffs since their 2021 run to the Super Bowl. But Burrow has consistently been mentioned as their best and most consistent player.
If he can get the most out of this group on the field from now till December, the Bengals have a strong chance of making a run to the Super Bowl again, even in a far more competitive AFC.
