According to their longtime general manager Chris Ballard, Indianapolis Colts starting wide receiver Alec Pierce, who was recently placed on PUP, is ‘a week or so away’ from returning (via Fox59/CBS4’s Mike Chappell):

The lucratively re-signed lead wideout underwent minor cleanup surgery on his injured ankle earlier this offseason, and the expectation was that he’d be back some time during the back half of Colts training camp.
Colts training camp officially kicks off tomorrow and concludes on Thursday, August 20th, so that would put him right in line with that updated recovery timeline—which is encouraging news.
That being said, the Colts may initially take it a bit easy initially on Pierce during his eventual training camp return, gradually ramping him up and seeing how his surgically cleaned up ankle responds.
The Colts reached a contract extension with Pierce on a once historic 4-year, $116 million deal right when free agency formally kicked off in early March. He’s coming off a breakout career year in which he recorded 47 receptions for 1,003 total receiving yards and 6 touchdown receptions during 15 games (14 starts).
His 21.3 yards per reception average led the league for a consecutive year among qualifying wideouts.
His return will obviously be a big one for the Colts receiving corps as their lead wideout and one of the offense’s best playmakers collectively.
