Wednesday afternoon, the Commanders took the plunge, determined they are actually not as pleased with their wide receiver group as they have led us to believe, and signed Diggs. The 12th NFL season for Diggs will be near home, as the native of the Washington area is now a member of the Washington Commanders .
One receiver who used to go deep very effectively for the Washington Redskins is Santana Moss. Moss has said previously he wanted the Commanders to sign Diggs for 2026. On Wednesday, Moss was a guest on the " Burgundy and Gold Today ," hosted by Ben Standig on Team 980.

"When you have a chance to get a guy like Diggs, coming off of the season that he had last year, you add that to Terry McLaurin and those other guys you have, it just got us better offensively and in the wide receiver room."
Indeed, Diggs did have a big 2025 season with 85 receptions for 1,103 receiving yards, playing in all 17 games for the New England Patriots.. "I do know this strengthens our quarterbacks' opportunities." Moss then went a bit over the top, comparing McLaurin and Diggs to the duo of receivers in Cincinnati (Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins). Yes, we all understand a former Washington receiver being excited the Commanders have added Diggs, but is a single NFL analyst out there going to find McLaurin and Diggs comparable to Chase and Higgins?
But yes, Moss is excited to have Diggs on the Commanders. "Diggs could bring a lot to the table. Terry is getting up there in age, but he can still run with the best of them. He comes down with those 50/50 balls. He is just a game changer. When I watched Diggs last year, he showed this edge to his game. If you may have thought he had lost something with the knee injury, he found a way to show you he had something else in his bag, and that is what you want."
Moss is correct in saying that Diggs plays with an edge. He does have an edge, and it is vocal. So Jayden Daniels needs to get ready, because he is likely to hear from Diggs this season on a few occasions. But we will have time later to talk about that aspect.
For now, Diggs has been productive throughout his career. He will also turn 33 in November, so he will be watched closely by coaches. If Diggs can reproduce anything close to his 2025 season, everyone in the fan base will be excited about this move.
