Serie A champions Inter have reportedly struck a verbal agreement with Yann Bisseck over a new long-term contract. According to Fabrizio Romano , the player has agreed to ‘new salary conditions,’ meaning he is ready to commit his future to Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter signed Bisseck from Danish club Aarhus in 2023 for a reported fee of €7 million, expecting him to become the cornerstone of their defense for years to come. And the 25-year-old has more than lived up to those expectations.
After gradually establishing himself under Simone Inzaghi, Bisseck fulfilled his potential under Cristian Chivu last season. Indeed, he has developed into one of Inter’s most reliable performers, overtaking several long-serving stalwarts in the pecking order.
However, his steady rise has also attracted interest from several top European clubs, making the Nerazzurri’s decision to tie him down to a new long-term contract an obvious priority.
Our take on Inter & Bisseck
Bisseck was nothing short of impressive last term, combining imposing physicality with composure in possession and tactical intelligence. Despite making only 23 Serie A appearances in 2025/26, his contribution to the club’s 21st Scudetto was immense.
In addition to clicking with Alessandro Bastoni and Manuel Akanji, he amassed three goals and two assists, proving equally dependable on both ends of the pitch. Then, it’s hardly surprising that Inter have decided to offer him a new deal.
Still, the official announcement is not imminent, with formal steps set to begin in the coming days. Inter will, in all likelihood, secure Bisseck’s services until 2031, effectively shutting down rumors linking him with a move to the Premier League.
On the other hand, convincing Bisseck to put pen to paper on a new contract is unlikely to deter Inter from pursuing Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero with the same intensity.
