It's time for some more hitting as the Giants go full pads for the second time this summer, returning to the practice fields for a Day 7 session that should include even more physicality. John Harbaugh can only hope there are fewer penalties, which reached double digits on Monday in a driving rainstorm that lasted for more than 45 minutes of a scheduled 105-minute practice.
The defense has taken command of the past three practices, which is to be expected as the offense pushes through new scheme, new terminology and, what Harbaugh believes will eventually give them an advantage, more complicated cadences from the quarterback, Jaxson Dart.

Player of camp so far: The youngest on the roster
Does Arvell Reese need a nickname? Some fans say yes. The first-round pick has been the best player in camp thus far, so I gave him one in my NorthJersey.com column that posted Tuesday morning: The E-Reeser.
