The Chicago White Sox are sitting atop the AL Central coming out of the MLB trade deadline, at which they didn't really make any significant moves outside of their Luis Castillo and Brenton Doyle trades.
Those are some noteworthy roster moves, but neither really moves the needle like what their division rival Cleveland Guardians , did when they acquired Nathaniel Lowe, Jo Adell, and Foster Griffin.
However, White Sox fans should not worry about the Guardians, at least according to ESPN's Bradford Doolittle and Jesse Rogers . The reason is simple: after the deadline, the White Sox should still be viewed as the AL Central favorites.

"I thought Cleveland did fine at the deadline," Doolittle writes. "But the White Sox had emerged as the favorite to win the division before the sprees of the last few days, then went out and had a better deadline than the Guardians."
Even though the Guardians made some more eye-catching moves by the deadline, the White Sox are believed by Doolittle to have had the better trade deadline.
They came into the deadline as a better team than the Guardians, which can't be denied. But then, at the deadline, they had an arguably better set of moves as well.

Rogers added on, writing in response to the Guardians becoming the "team to beat" in the AL Central: "Not real. It's not that they can't -- they absolutely can -- but now I just view it as an even race. And on top of it, the White Sox have a three-game head start."
So, even if the Guardians are perceived to have had the better trade deadline, the current three-game difference has Chicago still a step ahead of the Guardians.
If anything, the Guardians' moves only evened the playing field. But, considering how great the White Sox have been, and the potential for Castillo and Doyle to turn things around in Chicago, White Sox fans should not be worried about the Guardian's moves.
