What is the format for The Hundred?
Each side plays eight games in the group stage - including facing their local rivals twice - with the team who finishes top of the table progressing straight to the final.
The teams who finish second and third meet in the eliminator, with the winner of that going forward to the final.
The group stages conclude on Wednesday, 12 August. The eliminator is on Friday, 14 August at The Oval and the final is on Sunday, 16 August at Lord's.
Teams with the same number of points are separated by net run-rate initially and, if that is the same, by their head-to-head record.
Who needs what in the women's competition?
Trent Rockets and Southern Brave are in pole position to reach the knockouts after five wins from their opening six games. One victory, or even a no result, will guarantee their progress, but they would need to keep on winning to secure top spot.
Manchester Super Giants are also in contention for first place, although they would need the teams above them to lose both their remaining matches. They look well set for the knockout stages with 14 points from six matches.
Welsh Fire (12 points from six), Sunrisers Leeds (eight from five), London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix (both six from five) are still able to make the knockout stages but would likely need to win all their remaining games while also relying on other results and net run-rate to qualify.
Bottom side MI London are unable to make the knockout stages having lost four and tied one of their five games.
Who needs what in the men's competition?
Trent Rockets lead the way with five wins and one loss from five matches, and one win from their remaining two fixtures would likely be enough to qualify given their strong net run-rate.
Welsh Fire are also well-placed with four wins from six games while Manchester Super Giants are the current holders of third place on net run-rate - although they will be overtaken by MI London if the reigning champions (formerly Oval Invincibles) do not lose on Thursday.
Sunrisers Leeds , the lowest of the three sides with 12 points, are also in contention for a knock-out spot. They would need to win their remaining games and hope that other results go their way.
Southern Brave (two wins from six games), London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix (both with one win from five) are all on the brink of elimination - they would need a remarkable run of results to qualify.
How is net run-rate calculated?
Run-rate is the average number of runs scored per over by a team in their entire innings - so, for example, a score of 140 off 20 overs equals seven runs per over.
Net run-rate is calculated by subtracting the opposition's run-rate from the other team's run-rate.
The winning side will therefore have a positive net run-rate, and the losers a negative net run-rate.
In a tournament, net run-rate is worked out by taking the average runs per over scored by that team in each game and subtracting the average runs per over scored against them in each game.
If a team is bowled out inside their allotted overs, their run-rate is calculated by dividing the runs by the maximum overs they could have batted - 20 in the case of this tournament.
Even though The Hundred does not call five balls an over, that premise is still used to calculate net run-rate.
