Chelsea interest in Monaco’s Lamine Camara wanes
Chelsea’s interest in AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara (22) may be waning, as per a report from Onze Mondial . It comes as RMC Sport report Chelsea’s interest in AS Roma midfielder Manu Koné, whilst L’Équipe also refer to another “priority” target in midfield for the London club.
Chelsea had looked to be closing in on Camara. There were discussions between the Premier League side and Monaco late last week. However, Onze-Mondial understands that those talks have not advanced and so CFC’s interest has cooled considerably.
Les Monégasques have insisted that they are very keen to retain the Senegal international. That desire was expressed by CEO Thiago Scuro during an interview on Friday and then reinforced once again by Luís Filipe on Sunday night.
“I hope to keep him,” began the Brazilian. As the question was posed, Scuro let out a smile. He would listen to the response until its conclusion before departing the room. “You see the player that he is – unbelievable. Until the end of the transfer window, anything can happen. Everyone hopes that he stays. He is elite,” said the Monaco manager in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
