“I want to show what I can do. I know what I can do and what I can’t,” Brown said at his presentation on Wednesday at Bayern's pre-season training camp in the Bavarian town of Rottach-Egern.
“The coach has already shown me what I do well. I’ve spoken with him a lot. I want to play as many games as possible, help the team, and ultimately win titles.”
Brown will compete with Alphonso Davies for the left back position. The Canada captain has been plagued by injuries, but Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said they are not really considering selling him.
Brown made a big impression in Frankfurt which brought him into the national team, where he was among very few German players to do well at the World Cup where the team went out in the last 32.
Munich were also impressed and the Bundesliga champions spent €50 million ($57 million) on Brown who received a contract until 2031.
“I think everyone saw at the World Cup, if not before then certainly there, what quality Nene has,” Eberl said, naming Brown "incredibly versatile.
“When the opportunity came up, we had to seize it because I believe he’s a player who represents the future,” he said.
