Angel Reese achieved another double-double, and the Atlanta Dream staged a fierce fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, 82-81.
Reese filled up her stat line with 22 points and 12 rebounds, and also dished out four assists, stole the ball four times, and recorded a block. Teammate Allisha Gray also had herself a night, scoring 25 points after hitting 8 of 13 shots and all nine of her free throws.
Multiple Wings players scored 20-plus points, but Bueckers was not among them. While Arike Ogunbowale scored 24 points and rookie Azzi Fudd had 20, Bueckers was limited to 16 points, hitting just 6 of 11 field goals.
Reese spoke about Bueckers after the game, joking, "I'll be requesting my Apple Pay after this," in reference to a friendly bet she and Bueckers reportedly made on the game. She also spoke about the team's effort and Bueckers as a player.

"Paige is a great player. When you hold her to 16 points, it's tough; she's just so good, and her mid-range is obviously so good. I think our defense tonight- Rhyne [Howard] did a good job, and [Isobel] Borlase when she was thrown at her, and everybody that was thrown at her tonight, I think they did a good job," Reese said.
"I'm glad we just got this win as a team; it felt really, really good. And just going into the next game, it gives us a lot of confidence going home," she said.
Atlanta trailed by 12 points heading into the fourth quarter but continued to fight for the win. They were down four points with 23 seconds left, but a late Ogunbowale foul on Gray's 3-pointer was upgraded to a technical. Gray hit all three of her free throws, and then a jumper to give the Dream the late one-point lead, which was good enough for a win in Dallas.
Reese and Bueckers are close friends off the court and certainly became competitive on the court Wednesday night. At one point, Reese posted up Bueckers and tried to back her down closer to the basket. After a whistle blew, Bueckers clapped in the lane after holding her own against the taller Reese.
The win moved the Dream to 17-10, which is sixth in the WNBA standings and a game behind the Indiana Fever. They'll host the Seattle Storm on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
