A 17-year-old was arrested early Monday after police responded to a report of a shooting in downtown San Jose.
Officers were called at about 12:16 a.m. to the 300 block of South First Street. When they arrived, they located a male who they attempted to detain.
According to police, the suspect fled but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Officers recovered a firearm.
Police said no shooting victims were found.
The 17-year-old was booked into Juvenile Hall. The investigation remains ongoing.
